Although the marketing material shows the ATEM Mini as a neat and tidy solution. When in configured for the average streaming broadcast the term “rats nest” comes to mind. 
The numerous cables connecting, cameras, computers, Stream Deck, monitors and routers etc., create a bit of a mess in the surrounding area. It’s functional but somewhat messy. It also impacts the overall ergonomics of using the ATEM Mini and various input devices.
Consider two different workflows when using the ATEM Mini video switchers:
- Event Live Streaming: Show up to the event location. Find a 2’x2′ (60cm x 60cm) area to place the Cast Crate. Undo 4 easy to turn latches and remove the lid. Plug one power cable into the back of the Cast Crate. Plug the same power cable into an available outlet. Attach an RJ45 ethernet cable to the ethernet input on the back of the Cast Crate. Attach your cameras or other HDMI inputs to the easy access HDMI inputs on the back of the Cast Crate. Attach the monitor with the quick release and plug the two cables into the side of the monitor. Everything else is already connected and secured in the Cast Crate. Turn on the AC power with the switch on the back of the Cast Crate and then select either AC or Battery power with the rotary switch on the control panel. Setup is a snap: plugin power, ethernet, turn-on and attach your cameras and other inputs. Your ATEM Mini, Stream Deck and keyboard are right in front of you. No messy cables. Setup time is less than 5 minutes!
- Youtuber Broadcast: Whether you create your YouTube videos in a studio or a spare room, the Cast Crate allows you to improve your setup. Keep all your ATEM related equipment in one case.
